Hey I used some Chuck Palahniuk to explain the American obsession with imagining their own destruction. He wrote about it a bit in his non-fiction essay ‘monkey think, monkey do’. Like he had a theory that Stephen King invented school shootings by simply imagining them into existence and giving kids the idea. And apparently the government hired loads of filmmakers to thinktank all the ways terrorists could hurt America. I can’t tell where the line is between fact and urban myth with Palahniuk’s work.
