Cheap Girls-Ruby

It really pisses me off that this video has so many dislikes. These guys are a really great band but I guess that’s what happens when a record label known primarily for mainstream metalcore uploads a video from an old school indie rock band.

Bahh that’s annoying. I made my little brother like it on his account that he uses to post Nerf gun war videos

I love this song. I like the idea for the video but it’s really badly implemented, I guess I’m picky about music videos being a music video maker myself, but it was confusing and disorientating - the narrative was lost a bit.

Dee Dee of Dum Dum Girls
Tired now, and it was an awful day at work today so I played around with that ink drawing in my sketchbook of Dee Dee. Thanks for that circle of roses idea Jen.

Was that my idea?

so typically, IN ALL HONESTLY, i really really don’t care about any mainstream pop music—it’s just like, not my thing.

this song/video is one of the most brilliant things i have ever seen, though. oh my god the fucking with conventional images of femininity that go on in this video. (my favorite is when beyonce is seductively dusting off her grammys—if this is not FEMINIST NARCISSISM i do not know what is) the images of failed femininity are brilliant too !

beyonce is fucking with the narrative of loneliness

This is all very Important To Me for like a bajillion different reasons, but the primary reason being that it is helping me understand feminist narcissism so much better.

Also these outfits!

Let us be reminded that “Why Don’t You Love Me” (esp: feminist crying is feminist un-makeupping) was the reason I started an archive of feminist makeupping.

give me all the outfits!

cassette decks that had auto-reverse

and then

dual cassette decks with auto-reverse

became

portable cassette players

^ with auto-reverse

and finally

PORTABLE DUAL CASSETTE PLAYERS WITH DUAL AUTO-REVERSE

and ^ that was the way I carried my music.

I am ollllllddddd

Cassette singles.

Taping songs off the radio.

Frantically trying to put records on tape before you had to replace the needle.

That little BEE BEE BEE BEE BEEP? at the beginning and end of prerecorded cassettes

Putting scotch tape over the notches so you could tape over a prerecorded cassette

Having to sit and rewind the tape with a pencil in the spool whenever it snarled in the deck

recording over a cassette and still being able to hear what was on it before :S

with me it could have been…. a Lush album but you could still hear Selected Tales from Hans Christian Anderson underneath from an earlier point in my childhood.

Ink Sketch - Lana Del Rey
I woke up this morning really wanting to draw something. I was still in a silly dreamy mood and spent around 45 minutes on this inky sketch of Lana Del Rey, (I must find the source of the wonderful photograph I used for reference), before I ran to work and got there in the nick of time. I’m enjoying how people are finding it so difficult to define her.

This is amazing. Holy Shit.
